Game Recap

The see-saw battle continued in the first half and Ravenna had the lead at halftime 13-12.

The Tiger halftime adjustments broke the game open. Grants defense went to work and stopped the Bulldog offense in the second half. The Tiger offense settled in behind a fired up offensive line and pounded the ball on the ground. The Tiger air attack added some timely deep completions to seniors Alex Longcore and Kalub Bonter to keep the Ravenna defense off balance. Senior Devin Pent also had a nice kickoff return in the second half!

Game Recap

Tigers stumble on Homecoming night, lose to Newaygo 20-6.

Grant opened the scoring on the first drive with a 45 yard touchdown reception by freshman, Freddy Hull ( Pass by senior Trent Throop). The PAT failed after a mishandled snap, but Grant led early 6-0.

Newaygo returned the Tiger kickoff deep inside Tiger territory and scored a few plays later to make the score 7-6, Newaygo. Newaygo added a score in the 2nd quarter and led 14-6 at halftime.

Grant couldn’t get much going on offense after the opening drive of the game, credit goes out to a spirited Newaygo Defense that held the Tigers in check. Newaygo scored in the 4th quarter and the game ended with the score Newaygo 20, Grant 6.

Next week Grant tries to lock down its second consecutive playoff birth when they take on the Ravenna Bulldogs at home.
